Take-Up Unit (T.U.R.) represents the relation between the amount of medium paper and liner paper used by a single facer during corrugated board production. It helps maintain accurate flute formation, proper paper usage, and consistent board quality.
Three Methods Used to Measure the T.U.R.
1) Measuring Feeding Speed of Paper
T.U.R. = Medium Paper Speed / Liner Paper Speed
2) Measuring the Length of Corrugated Board
T.U.R. = Medium Paper Used / Liner Paper Used
3) Using a Take-Up Ratio Monitor
The most accurate method with precision up to the third decimal point.
